It’s the talk of the market and rightly so. A hugely successful US investment bank, with a reputation for dynamic deal doing, entrepreneurial thinking and unashamedly paying its people some of the best numbers on Wall Street, is now in Sydney and expanding its presence.
The plans are for a fully integrated platform, with capability across M&A, financing and ECM, at a size to take on the incumbent firms. And those plans are taking shape. The team is already over 50 strong, including M&A, leveraged finance and equities.
They are extremely busy on broad ranging and high profile transactions and attracting talent from most of the bulge bracket outfits. And given some of the challenges those firms are facing, we can see why – the prospect of working for a firm that is genuinely investing, taking on market share, giving people a clear and achievable trajectory upwards, and rewarding success clearly, directly and without global distraction, is something we’re not always able to report from an Australian investment banking perspective.
We’re keen to speak with hard working, ambitious bankers and advisers with between 3 and 8 years M&A experience from reputable firms.
