The desired person will work with a highly qualified team to originate, structure and execute debt and equity investments critical to the delivery of Australia's energy transition.
Responsibilities:
- Investment execution. Lead day-to-day project management and executive activities for assigned investments. Develop investment terms with input from internal legal, credit, and other internal stakeholders. Negotiate term sheets with transaction parties. Identify transaction risks and design and complete due diligence workstreams.
- Prepare and present investment papers for investment committee and board approval processes. Lead transaction documentation with internal and external lawyers, credit/risk, portfolio management. Manage projects to timelines. Support the professional development of associates and senior associates within the team.
- Sector leadership. Represent the firm in Australia's energy market by attending and presenting at relevant conferences and events. Contribute to the firm's energy policy and regulatory contributions.
Ideal skills and experience:
- Direct experience leading project finance transactions in the energy, utilities, infrastructure, PPP, or other real assets sector.
- 8+ years of experience gained in commercial banking, funds management, financial advisory, direct equity or private credit divisions of an institutional investment group or other financial institution.
- Strong transactional skills including developing key investment terms and investment structures, identifying risks and undertaking due diligence, financial modelling, and preparing investment papers.
